Team Rally Pan Am 1/9/2010 Race Update!

We just received word from Charlie on Jonah's progress as of stage 7. "After 7 stages of intense competition, Jonah Street holds 7Th place position in the Dakar Rally. The rally is half-way done. The 2010 Dakar has, so far, been rough, difficult and very competitive. Stage 3 was especially tough, eliminating a significant part of the field who failed to finish. Every stage has challenged the riders with silt, rocks and sand. Jonah has raced the first half of this rally conservatively, keeping his motorcycle and his body intact, avoiding penalties, risks and navigation errors, but keeping up an incredible pace. He is feeling fine and his Top One Oil/PAi/KTMTwins.com race bike is as fresh as it was in Buenos Aires at the start". Follow the excitement on the teams website at www.rallypanam.com or right here at KTMTwins.com.

Jonah Update!

Jonah is now racing stage 6 of the Dakar and is holding steady. It is a long race of attrition and you can't start counting your chickens before they hatch. None of the teams are starting to celebrate because anything can happen. I spoke with Niles who was waiting for Jonah to show up and he is upbeat and positive with Jonah's results so far. Jonah is currently running 9Th in stage 6, just 22 minutes behind Coma who is leading the stage and 7Th over all out of 161 Moto Entries. Keep posted as we are focused on the results and cheering Jonah on to a top 5 or possibly a podium finish!

Team Rally Pan Am Update!

The team has been in Argentina ever since December 26th and have cleared customs and Dakar's grueling tech inspection. Reports say Jonah is pumped and ready to take on all other competitors. Street #24 says, "I'm super-ready to get going!" We would also like to cheer on a new contender to the Dakar and one of our local friends and customers Dirk Kessler #143. We have known Dirk for years and with Charlie's help from Rally Management Group he was able to live one of his life long dreams by competing in this years Dakar. Good luck Dirk. Keep posted as we will update you on their status.
