King of the KTM 950 Super Enduros!

Imagine taking the front brakes off your bike and then going as fast as you can on a dirt road. Now if that isn't scary enough try throwing it sideways and breaking the rear wheel loose just so you can hold the turn. This is the life of flat trackers and we have huge amounts of respect for their riding ability. If you've never seen the sport do yourself a favor and find a race and experience it. We had to showcase Team Project K Racing so that we could show off their ultra cool KTM 950 Super Enduro Flat Tracker. Keep up the good work guys and good luck in 2009.

KTM 690 Enduro & 950 Super Enduro Supermoto Wheels

Yeah yeah yeah I know they are expensive! Have you ever had the chance to really ride a bike with Marchesini wheels on it. There is a reason why you see all of those fancy race bikes in every discipline of professional road racing and supermoto racing wearing a set of Marchesini's or equivalent. Other than the purchase of the bike and it's abilities in stock trim there is no better performance upgrade that you can do for your motorcycle than a set of forged aluminum race wheels. They are lighter and stronger accross the board. You don't have to worry about spokes anymore. You don't have to worry about pinch flats on your tubes because you don't have to run tubes anymore. There are so many reasons why they are better that I don't have enough room here to go into detail. I will give you the basics. You will be able to accelerate better, brake in shorter distances, turn sharper, harder and of course keep the front wheel up longer when showing off to the police. I am kidding about that last one. Or am I? You may want to consider a set of Marchesini's for your KTM 690 Enduro and 950 Super Enduro. Please contact me with any questions you may have.

KTM Super Duke Essentials List

If you own a KTM 990 Super Duke you may need a little help with deciding on which items you want to start off with. We've been doing this for a while and have a good idea on what you need. I can try and sell you on a full exhaust system and Power Commander but what you really need is items that protect your ride in the event of a get off. You want to have a nice bike to mount that full system too right? The first thing you may want to install on your bike is a good set of crash protection. This group includes items from R&G Racing who have made a name for themselves with their top of the line manufacturing and construction. This group includes Upper and Lower Frame Sliders, Front and Rear Axle Sliders, Ignition and Clutch Cover Protection and I recommend one of their Tail Tidies. The last item is simply for style. I don't think there is anyone who will argue with the style points awarded to you for eliminating that obscene stock license plate holder. Speaking of style points that also protect your ride we can't leave ASV's new C5 Billet Brake and Clutch Levers. They look and feel just right. With a 5 year warranty and the option of standard or shorty length you can't go wrong with throwing a set of them on your bike. If you happen to break a lever or two ASV will replace them for free. While we're at it we suggest getting an R&G Racing Radiator Protector. This will eliminate any of that nasty road debris from punching holes in your expensive radiator. Once you're protected you will want to really push it. While your pushing it you may want to control the bike better by installing the G2 Throttle Tamer. This little item is special because it not only tames out the glitch everyone is experiencing off throttle but also adds protection to your throttle assembly. How does it protect you may ask? Well, G2 has manufactured their tamer out of billet aluminum which will not break or crack in the event of a crash, assuring you that you will not have to limp the bike back. You can piece these items together over time or order them up in one shot. Regardless of how you go about it we really believe that every Super Duke should be protected.

California Motorcycle Emissions Bill

Even though I usually save the this blog section for tech tips and new product reviews I thought today I needed to bring to your attention a situation in California that will effect all of us Cali riders. I usually don't get to involved with politics but this will effect all of us who have a passion for our motorcycles. It will take away a little of that freedom that we fell in love with the first time we threw a leg over a motorcycle. Motorcycles equal freedom, right! Don't let them take that away from us. Speak up and be heard. Here is were you can get in contact with your legislators. If you want to obtain a copy of Bill 435 you can get that PDF file here:

990 Adventure Essentials list #2

OK, so I gave you the bare essentials for your KTM 990 Adventure in my last blog and wanted to expand on it. I know everyone has different requirements based on where you live and the type of riding you are subjecting your Adventure too. What we all can agree on is the fact that these few items offer more bang for the buck than most. Starting off with the European Headlight Assembly and the PIAA High Output White H7 and H3 Light bulbs for that bezel, this really kicks up the juice so you can see on those dark nights riding on the back roads. To compliment you additional lighting we included in this list the G2 Racing Tamer Throttle to smooth out the glitch with the stock Fuel Injection and a set of KTM Heated Grips to keep you hands nice and toasty. Throw in a 16TH Counter Shaft Sprocket for those times when you need to out accelerate your buddies and a set of KTMTwins.com Frame Protectors and you have the makings for the ultimate Adventure bike. Keep an eye out for more suggestions to come! Ron
